Egg-stravagence: The story behind the Fabergé Eggs.

The Fabergé Egg (has such a royal ring to it, right?) is a jewelled egg created by the luxury jewellery firm, House of Fabergé, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. We’re talking imperial Russia here.

Peter Carl Fabergé crafted the very first Fabergé egg as an Easter gift for the Russian Tsar's family.

Each egg is a masterpiece, adorned with precious gems, gold, and intricate designs fit for royalty.

Soon, this became a tradition for the Tsar royal family where they used to eagerly wait for the next egg to be unveiled. Now, each egg was a delightful surprise, hiding tiny treasures inside, like a treasure hunt fit for a king.

These Fabergé eggs were known to vanish like elusive treasure and not be found for decades. Real life treasure hunt stuff, eh?

Even in modern times, Fabergé eggs continue to mesmerise and inspire. Today, the House of Fabergé creates contemporary masterpieces, keeping the legacy of fine craftsmanship and luxury alive.

As many as 69 eggs were created, of which 57 survive today.

Fabergé eggs are worth millions of dollars and have become symbols of opulence.

Above all, owning a genuine Fabergé egg is like holding a piece of history in your hands. These beautiful creations are highly sought after by collectors and luxury enthusiasts alike.
